How wonderful that there was snow.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like the studio is in the basement. Is that correct? If so, isn't there an exit at that level to the South that can take you through the wall to the via Trento? We would go that way when making the hike to Maestro Alberto Bruni's workshop for stone carving.
Your first photo is magical. It gets me thinking about what is it that makes it so attractive? In Castiglion Fiorentino, the topography demands a particular response and scale once it is decided that the City will occupy the Hill. The sky (atmosphere) responds to the land as well. There exists a synergy that is hard to ignore.
Bachelard on the poetic effects of winter, the oldest season.
ReplyDelete"Outside the occupied house, the winter cosmos is a simplified cosmos. It is a non-house. The dreamer senses this, and because of the diminished entity of the outside world, experiences all the qualities of intimacy with increased intensity. On snowy days, the house too is old, as though it were living in the past of centuries gone by."
Awesome group photo! You guy's look very excited and ready for a life changing experience. Please remember you are with two of UTSA's finest professors, be sure to absorb as much as you can... you will not regret it!
