










Recounting the steps between the bus and the Campo dei Miracoli in Pisa… recounting the vendors that lines those steps… There were countless vendors hawking their wares: cheap sunglasses, umbrellas, postcards, trinkets, baubles, sweatshirts, kitch. We passed through unaware. It was there, within the walls of the medieval city that we met three buildings, set so carefully in the campo upon the grass. Surrounded by tourists, we never found Pisa, yet these three buildings spoke to us in the language of marble and Romanesque grace! We were, no doubt, mistaken for tourists. That is, until the sketchbook and the fountain pen took us away from the crowds… then… we drempt of three buildings…
